NEWS FLASH:  Lady Laura is For Sale

Laura and I have started a new chapter in our lives by having our first child -- William Rives Gay.  With this change in lifestyle, we have decided to list Lady Laura for sale.  We still have a dream of buying another boat in 18 years (or less) and heading out again (next time it will be for 1+ years!!!).  Lady Laura has been a great boat for us, and has provided us with very fond life-long memories -- we will miss our home on the water.

Hello friends and family!  This web page will give everyone a peek into our cruising adventures in our boat Lady Laura.  With a bit of luck and a lot of time (7 knots cruising speed) we will begin our trip from Herrington Harbor North in Deale Maryland and continue south on the Intracoastal Waterway to the Southern  Bahamas.  For those interested we have included a very rough itinerary of our trip - of course, this plan is dependant on weather, mechanical failure, fatigue and general mutiny of the crew!   

Our boat is a 1983 40 foot Marine Trader trawler and has two staterooms, two heads (bathrooms), a galley (kitchen), and two steering stations.  It's powered by a single Ford Lehman 120 HP diesel engine.  Full description.

We will be updating this website along the way.  We will post the changes under News.  And we plan to have detailed information with trip reports via the Ship's log.
